About me
Dr. Tyler Youngman writes and teaches about the history and philosophy of cultural destruction. Their agenda examines how bibliographical artifacts and preservation infrastructures mediate performances of pastmaking. Their scholarship on epistemicide, epistemic injustice, and cultural heritage informatics has appeared in Journal of Documentation, Knowledge Organization, Journal of Digital Social Research, Information Research, and Journal of Information Ethics. Dr. Youngman holds degrees in Information Studies (PhD, MSLIS, BS), Women's and Gender Studies (CAS), and Music History and Cultures (BA) from Syracuse University, and serves as an Assistant Professor in Library Science and Associate Director of the Community Archives Lab at East Carolina University.
