2026 ALISE Annual Conference

Sonya Durney is the Director of Educational Initiatives at the EveryLibrary Institute. In addition, she is the Scholarly Communication Librarian at the University of New England and the Past President of the Maine Library Association. She continues her service on MLA's Legislative Committee, the American Library Association Committee on Legislation, and the Maine Freedom of Information Coalition. Sonya holds a PhD in Public Policy, an MLIS, and a BA in Political Science. Her research examines the intersection of information access, public policy, and the political self-efficacy of library workers.
