About me
LaTesha Velez (she/her/hers) is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro LIS program. After working in libraries off and on since 1994, she is now focused on teaching new professionals to thrive in a growingly diverse and globalized field. LaTesha critically examines and contextualizes information in society and the role of information institutions in society. Her goals are to contribute theoretical research that centralizes the experiences of marginalized people and to provide information for educators to make positive changes toward embracing different lived experiences.
