Hripsime Mantecon is a Ph.D. student in Information Science at the University of North Texas, specializing in Health Informatics. Her research focuses on health information-seeking behavior across social media and clinical environments. She is particularly interested in women’s health and mental health, as well as the use of virtual reality as a tool to support stress and anxiety management. Her work examines how individuals navigate symptoms, treatment options, and interactions with healthcare providers, with an emphasis on how information is shared, interpreted, and acted upon in online communities versus traditional healthcare settings. She also explores issues related to health literacy, digital literacy, and how people engage with large volumes of health information in online environments.
