Dr. Mónica Colón-Aguirre is an associate professor at the University of South Carolina, School of Information Science. She has more than ten years of experience teaching in higher education and has taught courses at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels. She is a recipient of the Spectrum Doctoral Fellowship (2008). Her areas of research include library management, services for underserved populations, information behaviors of Spanish speakers, and social justice approaches to information.
