This poster presents a work in progress examining ‘divisive concepts’ legislation (“Executive Order on Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping”) through the intersecting analytical lenses of governmentality (Founcault) and identity-thinking (Adorno) — arguing that these mechanisms illuminate how such legislation produces a regime of epistemic constraint that systematically erodes the conditions of academic freedom in higher education.
