Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of our everyday lives (Brandtzaeg, 2025). The K-12 educational system in the United States is exploring the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and the boundaries that must be observed to use new tools to educate students while keeping them safe. This work-in-progress examines the guidelines implemented by Texas school districts. A taxonomy of these results is presented and examined through the lens of how they connect to school librarianship standards and how they can be used to prepare future school librarians for roles in AI-infused school districts.
