Social media platforms offer products and services to various user groups for different purposes, thereby enhancing their value as more users join and participate. However, since mandatory information disclosure is a significant condition for users to register and use social media platforms, the possibility of privacy invasion by platform owners arises, thereby raising privacy concerns among users. Therefore, this study uses a mixed-methods research design to assess the correlations among perceived privacy boundary assurance, boundary rule-formation, boundary self-regulation, and privacy behaviors on social media platforms among young adults in southern Nigeria.
