Our preliminary analysis of video-recorded sessions and artifact analysis suggests that families in high-novelty groups may engage in more frequent and diverse information practices of offering questions, hints, and affective encouragement. These patterns are currently being further analyzed. Further analysis will contribute towards understanding the information practices in sociomaterial and family learning contexts by highlighting how information practices are enacted through situated, hands-on, and collaborative tasks that support creativity and problem solving in rural library settings.
