About me
Rebecca Meehan, Ph.D., is a Professor in the School of Information at Kent State University in Kent, OH. Dr. Meehan teaches in the iSchool Medical Librarianship concentration, the User Experience Master’s program and the Health Informatics Master’s program. Her research looks at workforce preparation for the information marketplace including AI Literacy, consumer health information, medical libraries, health informatics, user experience, and knowledge management. Her research centers on visibility and portability of information science skills and education required in information ecosystems, with a focus on health information and health care systems. Her interests center on improving patient safety by improving the user experience of health information technology, and sociotechnical approaches to improving health outcomes for a diverse cultural population.
