About me
Julia Burns Petrella is an adjunct instructor at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. Julia earned a doctoral degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024, and her research areas include youth services and school librarianship, LIS curricula and pedagogy, and the significance of race, racism, and whiteness within LIS. Julia was a co-recipient of the 2022 American Association of School Librarians Research Grant, and a 2024 recipient of the Alice Lohrer Award for Literature and Library Services for Youth.
