About me
Melissa I. Cardenas-Dow is a Social Sciences Librarian at Sacramento State University, responsible for the subject areas of psychology, ethnic studies, women’s and gender studies, and counselor education. She is currently a doctoral student in the Gateway PhD Program at SJSU iSchool in collaboration with Manchester Metropolitan University. She is currently researching the ongoing implementation of the Ethnic Studies undergraduate graduation requirement at the California State University system, mandated by the state of California, and the roles academic librarians play across CSU higher education in mediating institutional practices that support (or hinder) the state mandate.
